| | Students will have the opportunity to earn college credit while gaining skills expected of all health care workers. Students will explore various health care settings and academic programs. The course is designed to address the eight Health Care Core Standards developed by "National Health Care Skill Standards" (NHCSS) project. The eight Health Care Core Standards are: academic foundations, communication skills, employability skills, legal responsibilities, ethics, safety practices, teamwork and knowledge about the systems in the health care environment. This course targets students at the career-entry and technical levels, to whom it provides a foundation for subsequent career choices. Students will explore strategies for effectively dealing with the academic rigors and expectations of BTC health care programs so they are better prepared to successfully manage their role as a college student. |
